Reader survey: the best and worst things about your CAT tools (Riccardo’s entry)

  • “I have tried GT4T several times now, within the work on projects of general interest and not on specialized documents, and with different language pairs (including Cyrillic alphabet languages). I have tried it in Workbench, in Tag Editor, in Word.”

     Mushu Bulgarian/French translator

  • “I was not even aware that this app existed! It’s a great piece of software and will become one of my staple apps used with my CAT tools.”

     Paul Wood, Freelance Translator

  • “Dallas just released an updated version of his VERY cool idea of ‘Fixing MT results using your own Glossaries’, which I am going to try immediately on the rest of my patent for this evening. I think GT4T’s implementation is already way better than either Lilt or SDL’s SDL ‘AdaptiveMT’, which is pretty amazing, but mirrors my experience with CafeTran: one guy manages to produce a CAT tool which is way better than anything produced by companies with millions of euros at their disposal and vast development teams.”

  • “You have done us a real service in producing it, and I tell very many people. I hope a few of them are buying it, too!!”

     Bill Gray Norwegian Translator

  • “(Without GT4T), it will be back to the stone age again.”

     Svein Hartwig Djaerff Norwegian Translator

  • “I am pretty impressed mate. Very nice functionality. Thank you for letting me know, this will become part of my daily work. The MT is OK in terms of quality (I can only judge for DE>EN) but still needs heavy editing. The dictionary function is extremely well thought-through and practical.”

     Daniel Arnold

  • “I just discovered your software and I was completely blown away.”

      Andrea, Venice – Italy

  • “I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for creating such a useful tool at such a fair price. It’s just what I was looking for and has been instrumental in speeding up my work.”

     Karen

  • “That’s what I call quick, personalized service! Thanks!”

     Ed Winograd Spanish-to-English translator

  • “I must admit that I get more and more excited about your application as it really helps me with my translation process. Previously, I used the online machine translation at sdl.com which was accessible via my account at SDL. Unfortunately, they have now changed their set-up, so you can only access SDL Language cloud through one of your Trados products, i.e. in my case it is Studio 2015, Studio 2017 and Studio 2019). So before I found your great application, I had to visit various ‘engines’ at various sites to look up different terms. Now I can even look up a whole segment in either Trados Studio, Memsource or even memoQ with a few clicks. That is definitely time-saving, especially if you are working on a very large project.”
